MBS is an impact modifier formed by ternary copolymerization of methyl methacrylate, butadiene and styrene. It has a typical core-shell structure in sub-micron size. The core is a rubber phase with a diameter of 10-100nm. Because methyl methacrylate and PVC have similar solubility parameters, it acts as an interface bonding agent between PVC resin and rubber.
